I fell in love with Rioja wines

If my modest opinion on the subject were missing, if I were able to add even just a grain of sand to a greatness already demonstrated by decades of immortal masterpieces, I too - like millions of other enthusiasts - can say that I was struck by the “Rioja wine road”.

Yes, there had been numerous high-level tastings in the past, enjoyable and satisfactory drinks that had convinced me to investigate about this wine region.

But as happens for a sentimental relationship, we were still at the first approaches, interested but without the love spark, that one that when it takes you does not give up anymore.

That one arrived some evenings ago, in front of a wonderful son of Telmo Rodriguez and of this incredible land, a Remelluri Reserva who upset me to the point of making me cry to the world: "I fell in love with Rioja".

And as happens every time you pass from interest to feelings, words get confused and struggle to get out of the mouth, so much is the whirlwind of emotions that run through the mind and heart.

I would almost like to remain silent, suggesting only to buy, open and enjoy this wonderful label, but not being able to miss the opportunity to share my experience with all of you, I try hard and try to tell you about it.

Unreal already from the color, very lively ruby with an integrity that you would never associate with a wine with almost a decade on its back.

And then, precise and intense on the nose, also without the slightest sign of evolution, to finish with a very rich and harmonious mouth, featured by velvety tannin to the point of seeming chiseled by a Venetian master glassmaker.

A fantastic wine, of a great stylistic level, classic and modern at the same time, a bottle that really lacks nothing, also an incredible price/quality ratio.

Do you want a defeact? Its absolute perfection, so brazen as to be almost unpleasant.

If you are still among the few who believe that the Spain of wine is still behind Italians of French wines, I highly recommend that you investigate the matter, perhaps starting with this small liquid masterpiece.

TASTING

👀 Bright ruby, intense and dense, with embarrassing integrity to the point of seeming almost unreal

👃Extremely clean, intense and with great finesse, also without the slightest sign of evolution. Good intensity and complexity. Chocolate, coconut, plum, slightly spiced and a delicate balsamic note in the background

👄Full bodied, rich and velvety, fruity and with a sweet note that remember white chocolate. Excellent balance between all components, very fine tannin. Persistence typical of an important wine, clean and linear finish with balsamic notes
